Developing countries

Since my first visit to Uganda in 2016, I have better understood the needs of developing countries. During these years, a Swedish fundraising foundation has been established with the aim of creating financial resources to improve the conditions for the education of children and young people. We have built and renovated school buildings, collected and transported Swedish school furniture, kitchen equipment, computers, sports equipment, etc. The work on site has been carried out by local craftsmen, but also by Swedish teams who set aside time and money to help with the work. The school that we primarily worked at is called St Annes and is located on the outskirts of Kampala, the capital of Uganda. The school had 7 students when the work began, and today has about 450 students.

People are basically the same but have very different experiences and knowledge shaped by their upbringing, culture and resources. The thesis of the work has been to create independence and autonomy of the local team. "Give a man a fish and he will be full for the day. Teach him how to fish and he will be satisfied for life."
